Photography Instructor (Part Time)
Looking for Photography instructors to teach Basic and advanced Photography courses, including but not limited to: Documentary, Studio & Lighting, Portraiture, Digital Photography, Photoshop (basic & advanced), and Photography II, and Darkroom, Candidate will teach curriculums developed by PhotoManhattan by integrating his/her knowledge to PhotoManhattan's programs and teaching philosophy. Some candidates, might be offered to present their own freelance photo seminars, courses, and curriculums. Candidate must be able to present samples of work that reflect a solid background in studio lighting as well as in documentary photography.
Strong printing and Photoshop techniques and knowledge of the history of photography are a must. Teaching experience or ability to engage students, teach interactively, and work well with others in a friendly environment is expected.
This is a part time position that *requires at least one year commitment. Candidate must be available to work during summers , and commit to a * minimum of 4 days & 20 hours weekly. Weekend availability is a must. Amount of hours assigned to each candidate will be determined by his/her availability and skill level.
Depending on the teaching experience, candidate may be required to complete a PhotoManhattan's instructor's training a few months before classes begin.

Photography Studio Manager Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Answering phone calls and aiding students and clients with photography related questions. Booking photo classes and rentals.
• Setting up and maintaining classrooms, photography studio equipment, darkroom, and exhibition space.
• Maintaining cleanliness and inventory, Entering data, Running errands. Light book-keeping.
• Editing photographs using Photoshop, Website editing using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Transmit.
• Keeping up to date with new photography equipment and usage.
Requirements:
• Computer literacy with Mac, Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word,
• Impeccable customer service skills and friendly, accessible demeanor,
• Excellent Organizational and multi-tasking skills. Poise and diplomacy under pressure,
• Ability to work alone, be a problem solver, and to to follow-up with management, co-workers, and clients,
• Familiarity with setting up and breaking down photography studio equipment, or ability to learn to do so.
Basic photography and Photoshop knowledge is preferred. Bilingual Spanish / English a plus. The ideal candidate will have an interest for growth in a creative photography environment as well as in arts administration.
Working hours are Monday through Friday 3:30pm to 11:00pm. To start immediately. Additional hours are available and optional on a weekly basis.

Work Study Program (open)
If you are interested in taking free courses in exchange for work, we have some options that you might be interested in. Please thoroughly review the details below before applying:
COURSE DETAILS:
Most of our courses are 2 hours weekly for 4-9 weeks. To qualify for this program you must select at least 5 courses, OR any amount that sums up to 60 or more hours of class. You may select any of our courses, as long as there are spaces available as determined by the management. We have all levels from Introduction to Photography through Portraiture, Studio & Lighting, Portable Flash and more. To view the list of courses click here.
You can start your selected courses as soon as you've completed the equivalent amount of work-hours. For example, if you wish to take and Introduction to Photography (9-Sessions), you must first complete 18 hours of work. Generally work is approximately 15 hours per week, for 1 to 2 months. You can continue taking courses thereafter, for up to 5 months from your start date.
Please note:
Courses must be selected within the first month. We can't guarantee free spaces after this time. In the event that you can not continue a course that you've signed up for, we'll offer 2 switch options as possible. No makeup courses can be provided, thereafter.
In the event that one of your selected courses is not available, we will offer you another course type, or a reduction in work hours (so long as they are not below 60). If you chose to discontinue the work hours agreed upon, this program will be automatically terminated and all courses discontinued.
