Photography Instructor (Filled!)
Looking for Photography instructors to teach Basic and advanced Photography courses, including but not limited to: Darkroom, Documentary, Studio & Lighting, Portraiture, Digital Photography including Photoshop CS3 advanced techniques, and Photography II.
Candidate will teach photo curriculums developed by PhotoManhattan. This includes but is not limited to 9-week and 5-week courses covering the topics mentioned above. Note that we are NOT looking for photographers to present freelance photo seminars, but rather for a candidate that will integrate his/her knowledge to PhotoManhattan's programs and teaching philosophy.
Candidate must be able to present samples of work that reflect a solid background in studio lighting as well as in documentary photography. Strong printing and Photoshop techniques and knowledge of the history of photography are a must.
Teaching experience or ability to engage students, teach interactively, and work well with others in a friendly environment is expected.
This is a part time position that requires at least one year commitment. Candidate must be available to work during summers and weekends, and be able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours weekly. Amount of hours assinged to each candidate will be determined by his/her availability and skills and it will vary between 2 and 10 or more hours weekly.
Depending on the teaching experience level, candidate may be required to complete a PhotoManhattan's instructor's training a few months before classes begin.

PhotoManhattan is a photography school dedicated to offering
quality photography courses, photo exhibitions, and photography
rentals to upcoming photographers in the New York area.
Photography studio manager assistant responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
Answering phone calls and aiding students and clients with
photography related questions
Setting up and maintaining classrooms, photography studio
equipment, and darkroom
Cleanliness and inventory
Entering data
Running errands
Light book-keeping.Editing photographs using Phoshop
Website editing using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft
Frontpage
Candidate is expected to keep up to date with new photography
equipment and usage, Microsoft programs, and other current
or newly implemented computer softwares.
Requirements:
Computer literacy with Mac and Windows
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent customer service skills and friendliness
Ability to multi-task, work alone and be a problem solver
Familiarity setting up and breaking down photographic equipment, or ability to learn
Basic photography and Photoshop knowledge is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Frontpage and Macromedia Dreamweaver
are a plus.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in arts administration,
growing professionally in a creative environment, and being
part of a photography team.
This is a part-time job. Working hours are Monday through Thursday
10:00am to 4:00pm, and some Sundays. Scheduled
hours are subject to change so ideal candidate will be flexible.
Additional hours may be available. Health benefits will be
